Armenian government to allocate AMD 1.37bln to assist forcibly  displaced residents of Nagorno-Karabakh

ArmInfo. The Armenian government will allocate AMD 1.37bln to assist the forcibly displaced residents of Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek  Mkrtchyan, of this amount, 950 million drams are planned to be used  to help displaced people pay rent (40 thousand drams per person) and  utility bills (10 thousand drams per person) for October current  year. As of today, 73,196 people have already benefited from this  assistance, of which 69,199 people received 40 and 10 thousand drams  each, and 3,397 people received only 10 thousand drams. The allocated  funds will allow 19 thousand refugees to make their payments. As a  result, more than 92 thousand internally displaced persons will  receive assistance approved by the RA government.

By decision of the government, another 420 million drams will be  allocated to pay residents of Nagorno- Karabakh one-time assistance  in the amount of 100 thousand drams per person. The minister said  that about 4,200 people, most of whom are minors, will receive these  funds. According to the current situation, about 100 thousand people  have taken advantage of this type of assistance. Some delays in  payments are due to the process of registering applications and  receiving bank cards.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan instructed  the minister to make payments to displaced persons exclusively  through bank transfers, including to persons over 75 years of age and  disabled people of the first group.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that for citizens of Armenia  living in settlements with a population of over 1 thousand people,  all government contributions should be made only in non-cash form. He  instructed to solve this problem by the end of this year. The Prime  Minister also pointed out the need to resolve the issue related to  the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, who, while outside the  country, did not receive financial resources, but after returning  should receive it in full.
