ArmInfo. In Armenia, the storage of the state gold reserve will be delegated to other departments. At the plenary session on December 8, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia approved in the first reading the amendments proposed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia to the Criminal Procedure Code and the package of related laws.
According to the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Hakobyan, it is planned that part of the metals and stones that represent purely market value will be transferred to the State Property Management Committee, and the part that is of historical and cultural value will be transferred to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports RA. The Deputy Minister clarified that the proposed changes apply only to the storage facility of the Ministry of Finance, and not to the Central Bank, which is free to manage its assets at its own discretion.
Hakobyan noted that all gold assets on the balance sheet of the Ministry of Finance are the property of the state. Their transfer to other departments will improve the efficiency of management of national assets.
