Procedure for submitting documents to Police on concluding CMPTL  agreement to be simplified in Armenia

ArmInfo. In Armenia, the procedure for submitting documents to the RA Police on concluding an  agreement on Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability (CMPTL) for fined drivers will be simplified. At the plenary session on December 8, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia is discussing amendments  to the Code of Administrative Offenses in the first reading.

According to the author of the initiative, MP from the ruling Civil  Contract faction Eduard Aghajanyan, the current law establishes that  in the absence of an CMPTL agreement, drivers are fined in the amount  of 100 thousand drams, but if within 24 hours the agreement is  concluded and submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs or to an  employee of the Patrol Service, then citizens can pay 25 thousand  drams allone. Now it is proposed to exclude these requests, since the  Ministry of Internal Affairs receives all the necessary data by  e-mail. Aghajanyan noted that drivers are often forced to rush around  the city to find a patrol officers to present them with the relevant  document. Now there will be no need for this.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of  Armenia Arpine Sargsyan pointed out the importance of fixing the  deadlines for its application in the document so that the software is  developed and applied in a timely manner.
