ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities intend to implement a radical reform in the tourism sector. At the plenary session on December 8, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia is discussing in the first reading the draft law "On Tourism" and a package of related laws.
The minister noted that the legislative initiative regulates the fundamentals of state policy in the field of tourism, the requirements for persons engaged in tourism activities, the implementation and protection of the rights to recreation, travel, free movement of citizens, the conclusion, execution and termination of a tourism package of contracts.
Kerobyan emphasized that the law regulates such concepts as visitor, tourist, tourist from the Diaspora, association of persons providing tourism services, inbound and outbound tourism, tourism package, tourism package agreement, launch of a tourism package, tourism resources, tourism result (product) , tour operator, inbound travel agent, domestic travel agent, outbound travel agent and other basic concepts. The minister said that Armenia and the World Bank are close to signing a major loan agreement aimed at establishing 20 tourism clusters, for which about 150 million will be attracted.
