State duty rates on exported excisable goods to be raised 10-fold

State duty rates on exported excisable goods to be raised 10-fold

ArmInfo. In Armenia, state duty rates on exported excisable goods will be increased 10 times, Armenia's Parliament at the plenary session on December 11, in the second and final reading, discusses amendments to the law "On State Duty".

According to Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the  Republic of Armenia Artur Manukyan, the proposed changes are caused  by the need to comply with the requirements of the Customs Code of  the Eurasian Economic Union. The state duty is charged for the  provision of relevant services by customs authorities at the border.  This includes filling out declarations, storing cargo, etc.  Previously, these deductions were made as part of customs payments.  However, at present they are carried out in accordance with the  requirements of the law "On State Duty".

Manukyan added that the goal of the project is to establish  differentiated state duty rates, in particular, for the inspection  and registration of goods of certain categories. Currently, business  entities pay 1 thousand drams for goods weighing up to 1 ton and 300  drams for each additional ton.

Now it is proposed to increase rates on excisable goods exported to  the countries of the EAEU and imported from member states of this  Union. Cargoes up to 1 ton will be subject to a state duty in the  amount of 10 times the basic state duty, that is, we are talking  about 10 thousand drams, and for each subsequent ton - in the amount  of one basic state duty, or 1 thousand drams. According to the deputy  chairman of the State Revenue Committee, these rates in Armenia have  not changed since 2020.
