ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade investments for 2023-2025 will total  $16.7 million

ArmInfo. The volume of  investments of ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade JSC for 2023-2025 will  amount to 6 billion 780 million drams (excluding VAT). This is stated  in the investment program, which will be considered at a meeting of  the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia on  December 20.

In particular, according to the program, 1 billion 446 million drams  will be allocated for collecting data on the structure of hydraulic  engineering and the dam (shaft), and drawing up project documentation  for their restoration. The costs of drawing up design documentation  and reconstructing the daily control basin of the Tatev hydroelectric  station will amount to 1 billion 56.7 million drams.

458.9 million drams will be allocated to ensure environmental  protection and improve functions in the field of technical safety,  and 1 billion 637 million drams will be allocated to replace the  power transformer of the Shamb hydroelectric station.

The implementation of a differential protection system, automation of  the valve mechanisms of the daily regulation pool and 4 pools and  their remote control will require 870.1 million drams; investments in  other areas related to the organization of operation of the  hydroelectric station will amount to 1 billion 311.5 million drams.

On August 12, 2015, the American ContourGlobal company and the  government of Armenia announced the completion of a transaction to  acquire the assets of the Vorotan cascade of three hydroelectric  power plants with a total capacity of 405 MW, located on the Vorotan  River in the southern part of Armenia for $180 million. The company  received a license for a period of 25 years for the operation of 3  hydroelectric power stations of the Vorotan cascade of hydroelectric  power stations with a total capacity of 404.2 MW, including the  Spandaryan HPP (76 MW), Shamb (171 MW) and Tatev HPP (157.2 MW).
