ArmInfo. On December 21, the Government of Armenia adopted a draft decision developed by the Urban Development Committee "On approval of the procedure for establishing an information system on the technical condition of the housing stock."
The purpose of the decision, as stated in the explanation to the document, is to establish an information system about the technical condition of the housing stock, which will allow real-time data on its condition to be obtained and data on buildings in the worst condition to be retrieved.
The system will be a component integrated into the national geoportal and an objective tool for policy development and decision-making aimed at improving the condition of the housing stock.
It is noted that at present there is no complete and up-to-date data on the housing stock, including its technical condition. Such data is collected in the format of responses to requests received from the regional administration and Yerevan Municipality. However, the steps taken are mainly based on based on applications, complaints and warnings submitted by communities, local administrations and citizens.
"A unified information system can become an effective tool for more targeted policy development, financial planning and implementation of relevant programs aimed at regulating the problem," the authors of the initiative note.
