"Due to the deterioration of weather conditions on the territory of Georgia, and the impossibility of ensuring safe passage of vehicles, as well as considering the recommendations of the Georgian border police, the movement of all types of vehicles on the section Vladikavkaz - the settlement of Lars in the direction of leaving the Russian Federation is prohibited as of December 28, 1.00 p.m.", the message says.
It also notes that a heating point has been deployed in close proximity to the Upper Lars checkpoint. Here, car drivers waiting for their pass to be renewed can not only warm up, drink tea, but also charge their mobile devices. Psychologists from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia are working in the area of the checkpoint, traffic police officers are on duty, a crew has been deployed to respond to possible incidents, and drivers are being informed about the situation developing on the Georgian Military Road.
