
ArmInfo. There was an attempt to illegally export about 66 tons of scrap metal from Armenia.
According to the RA State Revenue Committee, as a result of the video inspection of goods at the Meghri checkpoint, employees of the Internal Security Department of the State Revenue Committee have a reasonable suspicion that the goods exported by three trucks were scrap metal, temporarily prohibited for export. As a result, an attempt to remove about 66 tons of scrap metal was prevented.
A double examination was assigned for exported goods. It was determined that the exported goods were not suitable for further use for their intended purpose. A protocol on violation of customs rules was drawn up in the case, the materials were sent to the RA Prosecutor General's Office to provide a conclusion on the criminal case and ensure further proceedings in accordance with the law. A criminal case has been opened.
