ArmInfo.Armenia and China are considering cooperation in nuclear energy. Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Fan Yong visited the Armenian NPP.
During a technical tour organized in the plant's production premises, the Chinese diplomat got acquainted with the operation of the main and auxiliary systems and equipment included in the technological chain of electricity production.
After the excursion, the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in the field of nuclear energy were discussed during a meeting with the management of the station. General Director of JSC "ANPP" Eduard Martirosyan said that work has begun on a project to extend the life of power unit No. 2, and specialized Chinese companies can also take part in the announced tenders. In addition, the project for the construction of a new nuclear power unit in Armenia was also mentioned. A proposal was made, through the mediation of the diplomatic mission of the PRC, to make interaction with Chinese enterprises more substantive.
