Yerevan Municipality to start the construction works of Ajapnyak  metro station in 2024

ArmInfo.A tender for the construction of the new Ajapnyak metro station will be announced this  year. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced  at the meeting of the cabinet of ministers on January 18.

As Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mentioned, the issue of  construction of Ajapyak metro station will be discussed at the  meeting of the investment committee under the government in the near  future, after which the project will be approved at the government  meeting and a tender for preparatory works will be announced.

According to Avinyan, the construction project is completely ready  and is undergoing examination. After passing a comprehensive  examination, the mayor's office hopes to discuss the project at the  next meeting of the investment committee under the government.

"I hope that this year we will even begin construction work. If we  maintain the current pace, I am confident that we will complete  construction in four years, as planned," said the capital's mayor.

At the end of November 2021, it was reported that the leading Russian  Metrogiprotrans company won the tender announced by the Yerevan  Municipality for the design of the Ajapnyak metro station in the  administrative district of the same name in Yerevan. The total length  of the station will be about 1.5 km. It is also planned to build a  bridge (across the Hrazdan Rive, ed. note). According to the  forecasts of the city authorities, along with the operation of the  Ajapnyak station, the passenger flow of the metro will increase by  22% and will significantly lighten the load on the Davidashen and  Kyiv bridges.

Earlier, RA Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan announced that 4  billion drams are planned to be allocated for the implementation of  the project in the draft of the 2024 state budget of Armenia. The  minister reminded that funds were allocated from the state budget in  2021-2022 for the development of project estimates for the new  station, the work of which will be completed at the end of 2023.  According to Hovhannisyan, construction works will start next year.
