In less than 5 years, average salary has almost doubled in Armenia -  Pashinyan

ArmInfo. The average monthly salary in Armenia in December 2023 was 356,180 drams ($880) or  179,741 drams (101.9%) more than in May 2018. The y-o-y growth amounted to 25,273 drams or 7.6%. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on January 25 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

From May 2018 to December 2023, 193 thousand 737 jobs were opened in  Armenia. So in December 2023, the number of income-generating jobs  amounted to 741 thousand 726. This is 37 306 jobs or 5.3% higher than  the same month a year earlier.

The total salary fund in December amounted to 264 billion 188 million  drams, or 167 billion 501 million drams or 173% more than in the same  period of 2018 and 13.3% more (31 billion drams) than in December  2022.

Income tax payments, compared to May 2018, increased by 28 billion  035 million drams - up to 52 billion 199 million drams.

In December 2018, the number of paid jobs with a salary of up to 150  thousand drams was 60.4%; in December 2023, the figure dropped to  40.3%. The number of employees with a salary of 150-500 thousand  drams in December 2018 was 31.2%, meanwhile in December 2023 the  figure reached 40.6%, 8.4% of all hired employees(49,239)  received  more than 500 thousand drams in 2018, by the end of last year already  16.1% (119,483 people).
