ArmInfo.The Armenian government intends to resolve issues related to foreign trade in strategic goods.
As RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan noted in his speech, the proposed amendments are aimed at resolving issues related to gold, platinum and palladium bars, the export of which can only be carried out by licensed companies. To obtain a license, they will have to pay a state fee, the rates of which will increase significantly. The purpose of the presented document is to create longer production chains, promote and deepen the local processing of precious metals, create conditions for the production of finished products with higher added value and their export, rather than raw materials.
In recent years, Kerobyan continued, the volume of gold exports has increased sharply, and for this reason there has been a need for appropriate taxation of exporting companies so that the country's state budget is replenished in accordance with this growth. According to preliminary calculations, with the use of the state duty, the state budget will be replenished with AMD 10-12bln.
