State duties to be applied on exported gold, platinum and palladium  in Armenia

ArmInfo. In Armenia, state duties will be applied on exported gold, platinum and palladium.

According to the RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, the  application of state duty rates is aimed at replenishing the revenue  side of the country's state budget. It is envisaged that the state  duty rate will be 0.8-1% of the market value of exported gold,  platinum and palladium. In particular, we are talking about charging,  for example, 200 thousand drams for every kilogram of gold.  Currently, about 10 companies are engaged in their production.

Kerobyan said that recently there has been significant growth in the  trade of gold, platinum and palladium, and there is a need to quickly  resolve the situation in the market. He noted that the country does  not yet have enterprises for the production of gold bars that meet  banking standards; only gold extracted from the mines is exported.  But work towards organizing such production continues. This year  there will be good news on this project.
