ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that the current government has fulfilled its election promise on economic growth.
"In the 2021 election program, we promised to ensure an annual 7% increase in GDP and this is a very ambitious figure. In 2021 the figure was 5.8%, in 2022 - 12.6%, and in 2023 - 8.7%. On average, we more than delivered as promised. This is a comprehensive indicator that has a specific impact on all areas," the Prime Minister said on February 23 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which a report on the progress and results of the program of the Government of the Republic of Armenia (2021-2026) for 2023 was approved," the premier said.
The Prime Minister recalled that tax revenues last year amounted to AMD 2,222bln, which exceeds the figure for 2017 by AMD 1,064bln or 92%.
"Let's not stop there, because, unfortunately, the shadow economy continues to be present in our country," the premier said
The government will submit a draft implementation of the government program in 2023 for consideration and approval by the National Assembly by March 1.
