Gnel Sanosyan: potential of industrial companies and specialists of  Armenia is growing

ArmInfo. From year to year, the budget of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures is growing, and the lion's share of the funds goes to capital expenditures. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan stated  in an interview.

In particular, he said that in 2021 the department's capital  expenditures amounted to 77 billion drams, in 2022 - 95 billion  drams, in 2023 - 141 billion drams. Speaking about 2024, the minister  said that large programs are planned, and the budget for the current  year amounted to 307 billion drams. Of this amount, 150 billion drams  will be spent on capital expenditures. At the same time, he noted  that with a large volume of programs, the work of the Ministry,  inspection bodies, and regional administrations becomes more  complicated. In view of the mentioned, the possibilities of  introducing additional supervisory functions and involving other  departments in the context of implementing control are being  discussed.

"We often undertake obligations for technical control of the work  performed, although there are companies for this purpose that have  won as a result of tender processes. There are cases when specialists  do their work poorly," he said. According to Sanosyan, from 10% to  20% of the total number of companies perform their work poorly, which  creates additional difficulties.

The Minister expressed satisfaction that the potential of Armenian  industrial companies and specialists involved in the department's  capital programs is growing year after year. "This cannot but please  me. Years earlier, we did not even know that we had such  opportunities," Sanosyan emphasized. In particular, he noted that  today local companies are involved as subcontractors in the program  for the construction of the North-South transport corridor.

The government plans to increase the share of the capital  construction budget to 6.6% in the GDP by 2026.
