ArmInfo.At the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission, a meeting was held between the Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC Gohar Barseghyan and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolai Podguzov.
According to the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the meeting participants exchanged views on the prospects for interaction within the framework of the new supranational mechanism for financial support of industrial cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union, and also discussed current issues of integration processes in the industrial and agro-industrial spheres.
Gohar Barseghyan noted the existing experience of interaction with the EDB and proposed updating the formats for further work, including within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the EEC and the EDB.
During the meeting, close cooperation was noted in terms of conducting a study on the formation of the Concept of the Eurasian Goods Distribution System in order to determine the potential for increasing mutual trade and ensuring the unhindered movement of goods between the countries of the Union.
At the moment, the EDB is the only international development institution that is included in the list of financial organizations and development institutions allowed to participate in the implementation of the new mechanism for promoting trilateral cooperation projects. The EDB member states are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
