Armenia's defense budget totaled AMD 526.047bln in 2023, RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan stated on March 25 at a meeting of the commission on defense and security of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, presenting a report on the implementation by the defense department of the RA government program for 2021-2026 in 2023.
As the minister noted, during the implementation of the program, the need arose to increase the allocations approved by the state budget by another 9.19 billion drams. Thus, the total amount allocated for the implementation of 5 defense programs amounted to 526.47 billion drams. At the same time, the implementation of these programs was at the level of 99.8%.
"The list of activities of the defense department to ensure the implementation of the government's action plan for 2021-2026 consists of 14 tasks, which include 37 activities. Basically, they were completed in the planned volumes and terms," said the Minister of Defense.
