Bolat Imanbayev: Armenia-Kazakhstan trade and economic relations are  developing dynamically; nevertheless, they do not reflect  countries`  full economic potential

ArmInfo.Trade and economic relations are developing dynamically in both bilateral and  multilateral formats, which is significantly facilitated by contacts at the highest level. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Bolat Imanbayev stated during the Armenia- Kazakhstan Business Forum.

At the same time, the Ambassador noted that the current dynamics of  trade and economic relations do not reflect the full economic  potential of the two countries. In this regard, Bolat Imanbayev  emphasized that Kazakhstan is interested in deepening relations with  Armenia in this direction.  He informed that there are about 340  companies with Armenian capital and 76 Armenian-Kazakh joint  enterprises operating in various fields in Kazakhstan. According to  the Armenian side, over 100 companies with Kazakh capital are  registered in Armenia.

Ambassador Imanbayev also said that the 10th meeting of the  Armenian-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation  will take place next week. According to him, it is expected that as a  result of the meeting, new agreements will be reached that will give  additional impetus to mutually beneficial trade, economic and  investment relations.

According to the RA Statistics Committee, foreign trade turnover  between Armenia and Kazakhstan reached $100.5 million in 2023,  demonstrating a 2.4-fold increase over the year. At the same time,  exports increased 3.8-fold to $71.3 million, with imports growing by  23.6% to $29.2 million.

The forum was held within the framework of the visit of the business  delegation from Kazakhstan, which was organized by the "Astana"  Diplomatic Club.
