ArmInfo.Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Gohar Barseghyan made a working visit to Armenia, where she held meetings with the Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan, and with other officials.
According to the EEC press service, during the meeting with Mher Grigoryan, issues of implementing the priorities of the chairmanship of the Republic of Armenia in the EAEU bodies, set out in the address of the Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, to the heads of the EAEU member states were discussed.
The parties drew attention to the importance of increasing equal cooperation within the EAEU in the industrial and agro-industrial sectors and ensuring the food security of the EAEU.
At the meeting with Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan, a wide range of issues on the development of cooperation in the field of industry and agriculture in the EAEU and a number of other issues on the Eurasian economic integration agenda were also discussed.
The EEC Minister informed the leadership of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia about the progress of the implementation of the mechanism of financial assistance in the implementation by member states of joint cooperation projects in industry in the Union, the restart of the mechanism of interstate programs and projects, as well as about digital solutions in the field of agro-industrial complex.
At the meeting between Gohar Barseghyan and the head of the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Hayrapetyan, issues of the agro-industrial complex were discussed, including the issues of amending the Agreement on Seed Circulation regarding GIM seeds (the genetic program of varieties containing genetically engineered material).
