ArmInfo. It is necessary to take effective steps to improve the quality of products produced in the country. Deputy Chairman of the RA National Assembly Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Vagharshak Hakobyan told reporters on April 1, answering a question about the increasing number of cases of refusal to allow products of domestic producers to cross the borders of the EAEU countries.
According to the MP, it is equally important to diversify supply directions so that the country does not depend on traditional sales markets. But, as the parliamentarian emphasized, the issue also has a political context. Hakobyan, citing data from analytical studies, noted that, as a rule, border bans begin to be applied when issues arise in Armenian-Russian relations that require some clarification. At the same time, problems arise for Armenian exporters.
However, as the MP emphasized, against the backdrop of mutual bilateral statements, there are currently no serious alarms. But, as the MP recalled, at the end of last year a very serious problem arose related to the supply of domestic dairy products to the Russian market. "According to my information, this problem has been resolved as of today," the parliamentarian said.
He continued that both the government and the Ministry of Economy are now working to diversify sales markets so as not to depend on one market. One of these directions could be the countries of the European Union, relations with which are developing very productively, the states of the Middle East, Iran, and other regions of the world.
