ArmInfo. Team Telecom Armenia will support TUMO's mission (TUMO Center for Creative Technologies) to make modern technology education accessible to all young people in Armenia.
According to the company's press service, under the Memorandum signed today by Team Telecom Armenia CEO Hayk Yesayan and TUMO CEO Marie Lou Papazian, Team will provide high-speed Internet at a 50% discount to TUMO centers and boxes in Armenia, with the plan to make it free-of-charge down the line and serve all TUMO locations.
Thanks to the innovative NGN network, which is being built throughout Armenia, Team will be able to provide ultra-high-speed Internet for the uninterrupted educational process of TUMO students.
Attaching the importance of the start of cooperation, Team Telecom Armenia CEO Hayk Yesayan emphasized that promoting the educational and technological sectors is a priority for the company.
"Team and TUMO share the same mission but operate in different fields. In our case, it is the provision of high-quality and ultra-high-speed Internet for all residents of Armenia, and in the case of TUMO, it is the provision of modern technological education. By joining forces, we will enhance the quality of education for young people across all regions of Armenia and keep the communities active," he said.
At the moment, 10 TUMO boxes and centers are provided with TUMO ultra-high-speed Internet. The process of providing Internet will be long-term, covering all centers and boxes, more openly within the framework of the "TUMO Armenia" project. In turn, Marie Lou Papazian noted: "The involvement of the private sector in education development is as crucial as internet access for 21st-century education. Through such partnerships, we aim to make future skills accessible to all Armenian youth sooner," added TUMO CEO Marie Lou Papazian. Continuing to realize its goal of ensuring equal access to innovative education throughout Armenia, TUMO plans to build a network of 16 centers and 110 boxes, providing a weekly educational program for 80 thousand schoolchildren within the framework of the program.
According to the source, the Memorandum establishes cooperation with the EU-funded Tumo lab project and the 42 Yerevan programming schools, within the framework of which Team specialists will hold meetings and educational programs with schoolchildren participating in these projects.
