ArmInfo. Over the past ten years, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has transformed into an important and promising integration association in the international space. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Bolat Imanbayev stated at the tenth anniversary annual meeting of the Eurasian Expert Club entitled "Armenia in the EAEU: realities and prospects of Eurasian economic integration."
He drew attention to the fact that during this period, more than one thousand regulations were adopted regulating trade and economic activities within the EAEU.
"The high level of integration interaction is supported by the joint implementation of large infrastructure projects, the development of industrial cooperation and the formation of a common services market. In this short period by historical standards, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the countries participating in the integration association increased 1.7-fold, reaching $28.5 billion, and exports by more than than twice as much. Cooperation within the EAEU contributes to the progressive development of the economy of Kazakhstan. Our country also attaches great importance to the development of cooperation within the EAEU," the diplomat added.
Imanbayev pointed out the importance of ensuring a unified systemically functioning barrier-free internal market, eliminating the practice of applying hidden restrictions. "It is also necessary to create conditions for the active entry of Eurasian products into foreign markets and ensure unhindered transit of goods to third countries," the diplomat continued, pointing out the need to ensure transport sustainability with foreign countries.
Imanbayev named the modernization and expansion of transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as deepening industrial cooperation and ensuring food security, as a priority area of activity within the EAEU.
"It is very important that the issue of food security is among the priorities of the Armenian presidency in the EAEU," continued the Ambassador of Kazakhstan.
At the same time, he stated that in just 10 years of the existence of the EAEU, the member states have achieved impressive results in all areas. "Indicators, specific figures indicate mutually beneficial cooperation of all EAEU member countries. But, taking into account the enormous potential of the EAEU, even more remains to be done," the diplomat said.
In conclusion, Imanbayev wished success to the Armenian presidency in the EAEU. "I am confident that the priorities for the development of Eurasian integration proposed by the Government of Armenia will allow us to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of this association. Kazakhstan intends to continue to support economic integration based on the principles of equality and mutually beneficial partnership," the Ambassador of Kazakhstan concluded.
