ArmInfo. Armenia's suspension of funding to the CSTO is not a tragedy; Yerevan is not leaving the organization. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin during a session within the framework of the international economic forumentiteled "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum".
"In fact, the suspension of funding is not a tragedy, the organization continues to live. Armenia does not leave the CSTO. It continues to work," Pankin said, RIA Novosti reports.
On May 8, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced that the country would stop paying membership fees to the Organization. Earlier, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia announced the suspension of the country's participation in the work of the CSTO due to the latter's failure to fulfill its statutory obligations.
