ArmInfo.Armenian food and non-alcoholic beverage producers will take part in the international exhibition Foodex Saudi-2024.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the exhibition will take place from September 16 to 19 in the capital of Saudi Arabia - Riyadh. The department will provide a single pavilion for local companies.
The main event of the exhibition will be a competition of professional chefs, organized by the World Chefs Association and the Saudi Arabian Chefs Association.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, food production in Armenia in the first quarter of 2024. decreased by 2% to 111.1 billion drams. Beverage production increased by 4.1% to 46.6 billion drams.
According to the latest data from the RA Customs Service (for the first half of 2023), Armenia exported canned food, coffee/coffee substitute, water, including mineral water, to Saudi Arabia.
The total volume of exports for the reporting period amounted to only $588.6 thousand, which is 27.8% lower than the year-ago figure.
