ArmInfo. From January 1, 2026, medical insurance and accident insurance will become mandatory for  tourists  arriving in Georgia.

As reported by Georgia's First Channel, the relevant changes have  been made to the Law "On Tourism".  This issue was supposed to be  implemented from June 1, 2024, but this date has been postponed.   "The initiators of the changes are members of the parliamentary  majority. According to their explanation, the introduction and  implementation of new regulations requires a multi-stage preparatory  process, including proper informing of the private sector, as well as  embassies and consulates of foreign countries, conducting information  campaigns and other relevant measures that will effectively help the  sector in the process of adapting to the said changes," the statement  says.

Armenian citizens are in third place in terms of the number of visits  to Georgia. Only Turkey and Russia have more visitors. Thus,  according to the report of the National Tourism Administration of the  Republic, in January-March 2024, 191.8 thousand citizens of the  Republic of Armenia visited Georgia. In general, more than 1.3  million foreign citizens visited Georgia in the first quarter of this  year, which is 7.6% higher than in the same period of 2023, and 19.6%  lower than in the same period of 2019, before the coronavirus  pandemic.
