ArmInfo.A delegation of heads of a number of Armenian commercial banks visited the Data Processing Center (DPC) of OVIO, the largest one in Armenia. The visit took place at the initiative of the Union of Banks of Armenia and OVIO.
The DPC, which was built in accordance with the high international standards ISO 27001, 27017, 27018, PCI DSS and TIER III, was put into commercial operation in May 2024. The center has more than 210 server racks, a capacity of 2 MW, and is powered by two independent substations. During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the infrastructure of the DPC and cloud solutions. OVIO CEO Hayk Faramazyan noted that he was glad to receive representatives of the leading banks of Armenia. According to him, cloud and digital services of the region's exclusive data processing center play an important role in the digitalization of the banking and financial system. "Our company, being a reliable partner of Armenian banks and financial organizations in the field of electronic communications, is now ready to assist in the digitalization process of the sector, by offering the world's advanced cloud services. I am confident that our cooperation will contribute to the technological development of the financial sector for the benefit of our consumers," the head of OVIO emphasized.
In turn, Chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia Daniel Azatyan noted that in recent years, the banking and financial sector of Armenia has registered an unprecedented growth in the digitalization of services and the implementation of the latest technologies. "As a result of the digitization process, the volume of data is growing at an exponential rate, and the Data Processing Center of OVIO company, equipped with modern technologies, has the opportunity to meet the ambitious demands of data growth," Azatyan said.
According to the press service of OVIO, the company's Data Center is located in the city of Abovyan, 16 km from Yerevan, the strategic location of which ensures convenience and fast access for both local and international customers, providing a variety of solutions.
