In 2024, compared to the previous year, the System Performance sub-index of the Armenia Energy Transition Index increased, while the sub-index fell, by 8.6 points in total over the past 2 years. Compared to 2022, a decrease was recorded in 4 out of 5 indicators of this sub-index. In particular, the indicator fell by 14.7, by 8.2, by 3.0, by 15.9 points. At the same time, such a significant decrease in the last of the listed indicators is a consequence of a sharp deterioration in the indicators used to calculate it. In particular, the indicator decreased by 16 points, the indicator - by 19.6 points, - by 7 points. The deterioration of the indicator is mainly due to a decrease in the indicator by 10.8 points.
The Armenia Energy Transition Index in 2024 is 3.8 points lower than the world average. At the same time, both < System Performance > and < Transition Readiness > sub-indices are lower than the world average by 2.3 and 5.9 points, respectively.
Among its four neighboring countries, Armenia's score on the Energy Transition Index is higher only than Iran's. In the world ranking, Azerbaijan's score is 41 points higher than Armenia's, Georgia's score by 23, and Turkiye's score by 20. Iran's score is 23 points lower than Armenia's. The Armenia Energy Transition Index exceeds the indicators of the EAEU member states Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (the Russian Federation and Belarus are not included in the report), which are included in the report.
In 2024, Armenia shares 19-20 places with Kyrgyzstan in the regional ranking table, which includes 24 countries (former socialist countries of Europe and former republics of the USSR).
