<Gazprom Armenia> will conduct a survey of underground gas pipelines  with a total length of over 335 km

ArmInfo. Within the framework of the work schedule approved for the current year, the company will conduct a comprehensive inspection and diagnostics of underground gas pipelines of the gas transportation system and gas distribution network with a total length of over 335 km, as well as technical devices and process equipment at 15 gas distribution stations (GDS). This is stated in a statement by the  company's press service.

According to the source, comprehensive diagnostics of the technical  condition of underground gas pipelines, gas distribution stations,  and other engineering units of the gas supply system is an important  component in ensuring reliable, uninterrupted gas supply to  subscribers, and the operation and maintenance of gas transmission  and gas distribution systems.

Diagnostic work, in accordance with approved schedules, is carried  out both by the Diagnostic Survey service of the Engineering Center  branch and by specialists of the gasification and gas supply branches  (GSB) of Gazprom Armenia CJSC.

The functions of the Diagnostic Survey service also include field  studies (engineering and geophysical surveys) for the design of  electrochemical protection systems, engineering and geodetic work  necessary for the repair of existing or construction of new gas  pipelines and gas distribution stations, and training of GSB  employees involved in diagnostics. According to the head of the  Diagnostic Survey Service, Gevorg Gevorgyan, as of June 1, 2024, the  specialists of the Diagnostic Survey Service have already completed a  comprehensive diagnostics of about 65 km of gas pipelines and 5 gas  distribution stations. This year, work is also planned on a detailed  inspection of 21 overhead crossings of main gas pipelines.  "Inspection and diagnostics of the technical condition of gas  pipelines and other objects of the gas supply system plays an  important role, since these works allow timely identification of  problems and decisions on further repair or replacement of sections  of the gas pipeline or equipment. The Diagnostic Survey Service is  equipped with all the necessary devices and tools, and the most  modern ones, with the help of which our specialists can accurately  and with high accuracy record problems and defects. Technical reports  based on the collected data are then transferred to the operating  organizations, which then take appropriate measures to eliminate the  problems," noted the head of the Diagnostic Survey Service.
