
ArmInfo. In Armenia, electricity generation in January-June 2024 increased by 2.2% year-on-year (compared to a 2.3% decline a year ago), amounting to 4,542.8 million kWh. At the same time, in June alone, electricity generation decreased by 2.3% - to 666 million kWh. This is evidenced by data from the RA Statistical Committee.
According to the source, in January-June 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, hydroelectric power plants increased production volumes by 19.4% to 1,094 million kWh, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant - by 8.6% to 1,397.7 million kWh. Thermal power plants, on the contrary, reduced their electricity production by 16.1% - to 1,581.8 million kWh. Solar power plants increased their electricity production by 32% per annum, providing a volume of 468.6 million kWh. Wind power plants, on the contrary, reduced their electricity production by 38% - to 0.7 million kWh.
