ArmInfo. In 2023, Armenia exported 25.2 thousand tons of aluminum foil, with an annual decrease in volumes of 22.5% (versus a decline of 4.2% in 2022). Accordingly, the customs value of exported aluminum foil also decreased - by 31.5% to $ 87.3 million. This is evidenced by the data of the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia.
The main volume of exports went to Germany (44.4%) and Poland (16.6%). Slightly less volumes were supplied to the Dutch market (11.5%). Even smaller volumes were exported to Spain (6.9%), Italy (6.4%), the United Kingdom (3.8%), France (3.3%), Russia (2.3%), as well as Belgium, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Georgia, and Israel.
At the same time, the volume of imported foil decreased by 3.5% in 2023 (against 66.2% growth in 2022), amounting to 1.9 thousand tons, with a decrease in customs value by 4.4% - to $ 10 million.
Foil was imported mainly from Greece (80%) and the Russian Federation (8.7%), and much smaller volumes came from China (0.6%), the UAE, Germany, Thailand, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Poland, the USA, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Georgia.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in 2023, aluminum foil production in Armenia decreased by 21.1%, amounting to 25,669.5 tons.
The only foil exporter in Armenia was the Armenal plant.
