ArmInfo. From September 1, taxis in Armenia will be allowed only with a license. The State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia has issued a similar reminder once again.
The SRC report notes that companies operating through online orders are required to provide the driver's passport or ID card data, as well as his public card number, to the tax service. After that, the taxi driver receives an individual taxpayer number within one working day. Taxi drivers who take orders on their own must also connect to the Committee's electronic system and undergo identification. Every month, all taxi drivers must submit an electronic application for the intention to carry out taxi transportation by the 10th day of each month.
At the same time, taxi drivers will not need to buy cash registers, since receipts for trips are recorded electronically. If a taxi driver is connected to the online platform, his program issues an electronic receipt, sends it to the customer, withholds fees from trips, which are transferred to the SRC. The same will apply to private carriers, they must download the relevant program of the Committee, from which receipts will be automatically submitted.
The duty on taxi rides with cashless payment
from September 1, 2024 will be charged at the rate of 2% of the cost of the trip,
from January 1, 2025 - 3.5%,
from January 1, 2026 - 5%. For cashless payment, the duty from September 1, 2024 will be 1%,
from January 1, 2025 - 2.5% and
from January 1, 2026 - 4%. For an order for 1 thousand drams, the duty
from September 1 until the end of the year will be 20 drams for cash payment, and 15 drams for cashless payment.
The State Revenue Committee's message notes that the Committee's electronic system independently calculates all duties and collects them every month. Only private taxi drivers pay the tax themselves; in all other cases, the online platform takes care of everything. As for service providers via electronic platforms (Yandex, Utaxi, and others), they will have to pay a duty of 1 million drams per year. For taxi services, the license is 100 thousand drams per year for one to four cars and 200 thousand drams for more than 4 cars. For non-payment of duties, a one-time fine of 500 thousand drams (about $1,290) and a penalty of 0.075% of the amount of debt for each day of delay are charged.
