ArmInfo. The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) will allocate a radio frequency of 3600-3800 MHz for the deployment of a 5G broadband network in Armenia. As reported on the page of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the head of the department Mkhitar Hayrapetyan stated this in an interview with Public Television.
According to him, these steps are oriented towards the future, since 5G technologies will contribute to the creation of smart cities and will be used more in industrial zones. , - Hayrapetyan emphasized. As the minister said, a bill has been submitted to circulation for these purposes, which will be presented to Parliament in the fall. After the legislative changes, a tender will be announced, the terms of which the department is actively working with the PSRC.

Back in March 2023, the CEO of the telecommunications company Team Telecom Armenia Hayk Yesayan said that the company was the first among telecom operators in Armenia to apply to the PSRC for the 700 MHz range for the deployment of the 5G network. He noted that the 5th generation network will be available in Yerevan and several regional centers of the country after two years. At the same time, the head of Team Telecom Armenia said that the consumer does not need 5G today, since its modulation does not differ much from the existing network, and this is rather a marketing ploy. , noted Hayk Yesayan.
