ArmInfo.USAID funding under the grant agreement on cooperation with Armenia will be doubled - from $120 million to $250 million, and the areas of joint projects will be expanded.
As reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Armenia, the relevant amendments to the agreement , dated June 29, 2022, were signed by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Director of the Armenian Mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) John Allelo.
The expanded agreement will cover key areas such as disaster risk management, cybersecurity, food and energy security, regional cooperation and trade, democratic processes and inclusive economic development.
According to Mher Grigoryan, not only financial support is important for Armenia, but also democratic values, creative ideas and a developed business culture, promoted as a result of our joint programs. "The latter's investments in our country allow us to carry out fundamental reforms and improve the quality of life of citizens," said the Deputy Prime Minister, thanking the United States for supporting the implementation of Armenia's ambitious reform program.
John Allelo, in turn, said that this change shows the United States' commitment to partnership with Armenia. "By increasing our support and expanding our programs, we help Armenia grow and achieve success. Our work with the RA government and ministries plays a decisive role in achieving our common goals," said USAID Mission Director in Armenia
