During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pololikashvili discussed issues related to Armenia's cooperation with UNWTO, sustainable development and tourism. They also touched upon the activities within the framework of the UNWTO Executive Council on Tourism, of which Armenia was elected as a member for the period of 2021-2025.
The Minister informed that the Armenian government is implementing important, targeted reforms to promote production, develop tourism, and attract investments in the industry. According to him, currently more than 40 airlines operate direct flights to Armenia, showcasing the country's significant potential as an active crossroads.
At the meeting the interlocutors also discussed the importance of ensuring stability and development in the South Caucasus. They emphasized the key role of unblocking economic and transportation infrastructures in the region as well as expanding their network. Note that this year's UN Global Wine Tourism Conference takes place from September 11 to 13 in Armenia.
