ArmInfo. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is consistently developing dialogue with third countries to establish a network of trade agreements and expand the scope of interaction. This was stated to journalists by the Chairman of the EEC Bakhytjan Sagintayev during a briefing following an extended meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
He emphasized that the increased intensity of ties with foreign partners confirms the growth of foreign trade. In particular, according to Sagintayev, the latter has increased by 60% since the formation of the Union. At the same time, as he noted, the efficiency of integration work within the EAEU is increasing. In this regard, the Chairman of the Commission reported that last year, mutual trade between the member states exceeded $90 billion, which is 7% higher than in 2022 and 2 times higher than in 2015. According to him, mutual supplies increased by 17%, which was the maximum value since the launch of the Union.
<At the same time, the EAEU continues to work on developing cooperative ties between production complexes. This is one of the key factors for fully utilizing the integration potential>, stated Sagintayev, noting that the volume of mutual trade in cooperative goods in 2023 exceeded $30 billion.
