ArmInfo. The second Armenian-UAE business forum was held at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. As reported by the press service of the Armenian Embassy in the UAE, ahead of the forum, a meeting was held between Haykaz Nasibyan, the head of the Armenian delegation and Secretary General of the RA Ministry of Economy and Humaid bin Salem, Secretary General of the UAE Federal Chamber of Commerce.
The interlocutors emphasized the impressive growth in trade between the two countries, which has already exceeded the threshold of $4.2 billion.
The meeting was also attended by Juma Mohamed Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Economy, Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karen Grigoryan, Ambassador of Armenia to the UAE and Nariman Al Mulla, UAE Ambassador to Armenia. At the beginning of the conference, Haykaz Nasibyan, the Secretary General of the RA Ministry of Economy, delivered a speech. This was followed by a presentation on the investment environment in Armenia by Armen Deroyan, the Investment Promotion Manager at Enterprise Armenia.
As part of the business forum, B2B meetings were held between businesses from both countries, including representatives from the tourism, construction/real estate, food industry, agriculture, information technology and other sectors. It should be noted that according to data from the RA Statistical Committee for January-August 2024, in the structure of Armenia's foreign trade, the majority of Armenian imports comes from Russia - 58.7%, while exports - from the UAE - 44.5%, compared to 25.3% and 13.1%, respectively from the previous year ago. In the total foreign trade turnover of Armenia, the share of Russia and the UAE increased to 41.4% and 20.1%, respectively (from 35.6% and 5.3% the previous year).
