Rospotrebnadzor withdraws more than 118,000 packages of dietary  supplements from Armenia from circulation

ArmInfo. Rospotrebnadzor has withdrawn more than 118 thousand packages of dietary supplements from  Armenia from circulation.

According to the service, during the monitoring of the Unified  Register of Certificates of State Registration of Products, 48  biologically active supplements (BAS) were identified that did not  meet the mandatory requirements of the Customs Union. "These  supplements are registered by authorized bodies of Armenia and create  risks of unsafe products appearing on the market," Rospotrebnadzor  reported.

According to the press service of Rospotrebnadzor, information on  this issue has been sent to the Eurasian Economic Commission to  notify the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, verify the legality of the  issued product registration certificates, and take the necessary  measures.

In this regard, Rospotrebnadzor has created a working group, which  includes leading manufacturers of dietary supplements. The working  group is discussing issues of state registration of dietary  supplements and organizing measures to prevent the circulation of  supplements containing prohibited substances.

"Conscientious manufacturers of dietary supplements are currently  organizing events to remove supplements containing simethicone and  melatonin from the Russian market," the report says. In addition,  Rospotrebnadzor, together with Operator-CRPT LLC, is working to  prevent the circulation of dietary supplements with prohibited  substances through the state information system for monitoring the  circulation of goods (GIS MT).
