
ArmInfo.The Greek airline "SKY Express" has launched flights on the Athens-Yerevan-Athens route. Flights from Athens International Airport to Zvartnots International Airport are operated three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
SKY Express Commercial Director Gerasimos Scaltsas noted that this new route with direct flights to the capital of Armenia not only meets the growing demand for travel to Yerevan, but will also contribute to closer ties between Greece and Armenia. "By connecting our two countries, we aim to strengthen cultural and economic relations, inviting travelers from Armenia to discover the rich heritage and beauty of Greece through SKY Express's largest domestic network, which connects to the expanding international network through Athens," he noted.
In turn, the Ambassador of Greece to Armenia Christos Sofianopoulos expressed confidence that the launch of direct flights will bring the two countries closer together and strengthen the ties between them. "We are also confident that this will expand opportunities for trade, tourism and relations between people and very friendly nations," the diplomat said. According to the press service of Zvartnots Airport, SKY Express was founded in 2005 and operates the largest network in Greece with 33 destinations and an expanding international network of 22 destinations.
