ArmInfo. According to the calculations of the Central Bank of Armenia, the increase in public transport prices may have an impact of almost 0.5% on inflation. This was stated by Martin Galstyan, the Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, during a press conference on December 10. He also noted that this is the maximum estimate.
Recall that new tariffs for public transportation will go into effect in the capital of Armenia starting from January 1, 2025. The cost for a single trip on any vehicle will be will be 280-300 drams, while three trips will amount 880 to 900 drams per day (equivalent to 8 trips), and 4800-5000 drams for a week( 30 trips). For unlimited number rides, the tariff will be 8800-9000 drams for 30 days, 23,600-24,000 drams for 90 days, and 88,000-90,000 drams for a whole year. Additionally, a multiple-use ticket for 10 trips per month will cost 2100-2200 drams. These tariffs will be applicable to all types of public transportation.
