Laws designed to develop Armenia`s technological sector - minister

ArmInfo. The information technology sector is one of the main areas of development of the Armenian economy. This was stated by the President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Republc of Armenia Arsen  Ghazaryan in his speech at the congress of the Union of Employers of  Information and Communication Technologies.

"Almost 10 years ago, when the sphere of high technologies and  informatics in Armenia began to show some activity, we decided to  create an industry structure that would unite capable businessmen  specializing in this field, protect their interests, develop  programs, and conduct a constructive dialogue with the state," Arsen  Ghazaryan noted.

According to him, one of the first industry structures was the Union  of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies, which is  trying to promote and develop the industry through joint efforts,  bold and persistent steps.

According to the head of the Union of Armenians of Armenia, the  information technology sector is one of the main areas that is  designed to promote economic development, make Armenia presentable  and competitive in the international arena. Arsen Ghazaryan noted  that it is not easy for businessmen to quickly understand and apply  the importance of implementing information technology in business. At  the moment, one of the priority tasks of the Union is to promote the  continuous implementation of new technologies in the domestic  economy. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of a  constructive dialogue with the state.

According to the President of the Union of Employers of Information  and Communication Technologies Armen Baldryan, the priority of the  structure is the development of the Armenian economy, digitalization  and technological transformation. From this point of view, he called  the long-term close cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences  valuable. Armen Baldryan emphasized that the principles adopted by  the Union since its establishment are preserved today. The structure  itself is not engaged in business, but is engaged in the development  of the business of its members, aimed primarily at promoting the  progress of information and communication technologies in Armenia. To  this end, the Union actively cooperates with various structures,  government agencies, and participates in the processes of developing  legislative projects. "Today we must begin fruitful work for the  coming years, which is very important for Armenia, since the time is  approaching for conquering new technological areas necessary to make  our country visible in this arena," the President of the Union noted.

Welcoming the participants of the congress and wishing them fruitful  work, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia  Mkhitar Hayrapetyan called trade unions the most important support of  the government. He emphasized that the dialogue between the private  sector and the state should be constructive and yield practical  results. In this regard, he noted the effective cooperation, as a  result of which a law on state support for the high-tech sector was  developed. "With joint efforts, we have created legislation that is  designed to support and develop the technological sector of our  country in a new way," the minister noted.

The Union's Executive Director Eduard Musaelyan presented a report on  its activities. Organizational issues were discussed and relevant  decisions were made. The Congress re-elected Armen Baldryan as the  President of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication  Technologies
