Video surveillance bill withdrawn

ArmInfo. The legislative package obliging business entities to provide their premises with video surveillance systems as part of public safety has been  withdrawn from circulation. This was reported by the press service of  the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"We inform you that the package has been removed from the agenda and  will not be discussed within the framework of the current logic," the  statement says. It recalls that the packages of laws were proposed by  the deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hayk  Sargsyan in order to ensure public safety.

At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is ready to return  to discussions on this initiative in a new format. In particular,  this concerns the possibility of providing the department with access  to the video surveillance systems of local government bodies and  state structures.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs expresses its readiness to organize  a meeting - a discussion with all entities interested in the project  in order to implement the process in an agreed version," the  statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
