ArmInfo.Starting on February 1, Armenia will launch a program to remove citizens from the blacklist of commercial banks, as stated by Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan during the government hour in the National Assembly on January 22.
According to him, currently, there are approximately 280,000 people in the country who are on the blacklist. The authorities are proposing a solution where these citizens can be removed from the list if they have legal employment. The state will withhold 20% of their salaries, specifically, income tax, which will be sent to banks to repay their loans. The program is expected to run for two years. Citizens can apply for the program starting on February 1 by contacting any of the 490 social services centers.
