Armenian authorities to set requirements for tourism industry  entities

ArmInfo.Requirements for entities engaged in tourism activities will be set in Armenia. The government adopted a corresponding draft decision at a regular meeting on January 23.

As stated by Minister of Economy Gevorg  Papoyan, rules and requirements for the provision of relevant  services by tourism entities will be established. The goal is to  clearly differentiate between the roles of tour operators and travel  agents and to guarantee high-quality services and equal conditions in  the industry.  According to the Ministry of Economy, 2.2 million  tourists visited Armenia in 2024, which is approximately 7% less than  the previous year. The head of the Ministry of Economy attributed the  decline to a decrease in tourist flows from Russia, while there has  been growth from other destinations such as China, India, France,  Georgia, the UAE, and South Korea. The ministry aims to reach 2.6  million tourists in 2026, a goal that Papoyan believes is quite  realistic.
