Armenian Central Bank introduces a new 20,000 dram banknote on  January 27, 2025

ArmInfo. Starting from January 27, 2025, the Central Bank of Armenia will put into circulation the transformed 20,000 dram banknote of the 2024 issue. As noted in the message of the Central Bank of Armenia, such a decision was made by the Board of the Central Bank.

The monetary unit put into circulation is considered legal tender in   Armenia and is subject to unconditional acceptance at par value  without any time limitations.  The above mentioned banknote of the  2024 issue has undergone the following changes: on the  front side,  in the upper right corner, the year of issue has been changed to  "2024,"  and the signature of the new Minister of Finance of the RA  appears vertically. On the back side, in the lower left corner, the  denomination of the banknote is indicated, printed with optically  variable ink. A visible multi-tone security sign has been added to  the back of this banknote. 

The size of the 20,000 banknote is 150 x 72 mm. The banknote is  printed on a high-quality composite substrate HybridT, which is  cotton paper coated with a thin layer of polyester on both sides. The  20,000 banknote has a multi-tone watermark with a portrait of  Hovhannes Aivazovsky, as well as a two-tone watermark in the form of  its respective denomination. The main color of the banknote is green.   The Central Bank informs that the 20,000 dram banknotes of the  1999-2021 issue will remain in circulation.
