ArmInfo. Tax control over the activities of companies licensed to operate in the energy and water sectors will be strengthened in Armenia. The decision to this effect was made at a government meeting on January 30.
This resolution, as noted in the rationale for the draft decision, establishes the list of information and the procedure for submitting it to the tax authority by persons licensed in the energy and water sector, as well as other taxpayers operating in the water sector for tax control. The list of information is determined by the RA government. Thus, a person with a license is obliged to disclose information about their activities in the energy and water sector.
The decision is based on the idea of increasing the efficiency of tax administration, increasing state budget revenues, reducing the shadow economy, strengthening the capabilities of the risk management system by automating analytical mechanisms for identifying and reducing the impact of the human factor.
Recall that the day before, in an interview with a correspondent, ArmInfo former Chairman of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan stated that the use of tough tax instruments could harm the Armenian economy. According to him, it is unrealistic to ensure tax collection in 2025 by 330 billion drams more than in 2024, especially if we take into account the 9% tax arrears recorded last year.
