ArmInfo. The Italian Trade and Investment Agency (Agenzia ICE) is set to open in Armenia. This was announced by the Italian Ambassador to Armenia Alessandro Ferranti during a meeting with the Armenian Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan.
The head of the economic department welcomed the initiative and stated that the Armenia would do everything possible to strengthen Armenian-Italian economic ties. As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the parties discussed the most promising areas for cooperation, possibilities for diversifying export and import directions, increasing trade turnover, modernizing technologies, and implementing measures to expand trade and economic ties between Armenia and Italy. They also discussed organizing exhibitions and meetings in the B2B format and considered prospects for expanding cooperation in the tourism sector.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Italy increased by 0.1% in January-November 2024, reaching 382.4 million. Exports increased by 4.4% to 61.2 million, while imports decreased by 0.7% to 321.2 million. From January to September 2024, 12,350 tourists from Italy visited Armenia, which is 18.5% higher than the figure from a year ago.
