Armenian products will have digital marking for export to EAEU

ArmInfo. In Armenia, products will be marked with digital identification means for export to the market of the Eurasian Economic Union. The corresponding decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Armenia at its regular meeting on February 6.

According to the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Eduard  Hakobyan, the project involves the market of alcoholic beverages,  water, tobacco, and other goods subject to marking. According to him,  the old system did not ensure traceability of goods - marking was  done by the importer and the manufacturer.  However, under the new  agreement of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Republic of Armenia  already in 2018, Armenia, along with other member states, was  obligated to implement a new system for marking products with  identification means. According to Akopyan, this new system will  enable the state  to accurately track the movement of products and  control the shadow economy.
