Armenia ready to take active part in coping with information security  challenges 

ArmInfo. Armenia is ready to actively participate in international initiatives, cooperate with partners and jointly overcome modern challenges in the field of information security.

This was stated by the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia  Mkhitar Hayrapetyan during a panel discussion at the International  Defense Forum (IDC), which was held within the framework of the  International Arms Exhibition IDEX 2025 in the United Arab Emirates  (UAE).

Hayrapetyan presented Armenia's policy on combating disinformation  and the use of deepfakes, emphasizing the importance of communication  between the state, the private sector and society, and also spoke  about his ideas about international cooperation in the field of  cybersecurity, media literacy, fact- checking and information  security.

The minister emphasized that disinformation is not a new problem, but  with the development of modern technologies and new opportunities for  disseminating information, new challenges arise that are very  relevant not only for Armenia, but for the whole world. In the panel  discussion, the minister also spoke about artificial intelligence,  machine learning, data analytics, blockchain technologies,  fact-checking methods and the importance of international  cooperation.

During the panel discussion, participants also discussed issues  related to the mechanisms by which state and non-state actors can  distort stories and spread disinformation, influencing public opinion  and political decisions.

The largest international exhibition of defense technologies IDEX is  held from February 17 to 21 in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of the  President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This year,  the number of participants reached a record 1,565 companies from 65  countries. For the first time, 731 new companies and 7 new countries  are participating.

The exhibition will present more than 3,300 advanced defense  technologies, including innovations in maritime security,  cybersecurity, and defense. Strategic agreements and new partnerships  are expected, strengthening the role of the UAE as a hub for the  global defense sector
