ArmInfo. Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia Eduard Hakobyan received a delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Giorgi Sharvashidze.
As reported by the press service of the SRC, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. In particular, the parties discussed the implementation of the program for the modernization of border checkpoints between Armenia and Georgia and the creation of a joint checkpoint, as well as the improvement and full implementation of the initial electronic data exchange system between the customs authorities of the two countries. Issues related to ensuring the implementation plan for the necessary measures for the transportation of loaded vehicles sealed with electronic seals through the territory of Georgia were also discussed.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the effective implementation of agreements on mutual administrative assistance in customs and tax matters, as well as the organization of joint measures to combat possible violations.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue active interaction and improve tools and mechanisms aimed at improving bilateral cooperation, taking into account the volume of trade between the two countries.
